Southeast False Creek

Vancouver's Southeast False Creek area has lots of visually interesting, somewhat dilapidated industrial buildings. The area is set to be developed for the 2010 Olympic Village, then turned into Condoland, so I imagine many of these structures will be torn down or renovated. With that in mind, yesterday I went down to the area to photograph a building that often catches my eye as I cycle past it. You can see some of the photos here.

Full speed ahead tastyness. I often run by that building as well and have thought about photographing it. I never did. I do have some photo's of the back of the cobalt before the last gateway building went up, ongoing photos of Woodward as they tear it apart and the Koret Lofts building. Will trade photos for similar photos taken with the sd300. There's a cool vacant lot at Quebec and 2nd (the wall is cool) if you're in the neighborhood again. Nice photos.

-sparky.

These are great photos, buddy. I especially like the one with the rusty door and the building quiet and solemn against the sky. But they don't feel like Vancouver to me. They feel like the prairies. Maybe its the blue sky and the red paint peeling and worn away.
