Ali Farka Toure, one of my favourite world musicians, died today. His music is a meeting of the Mississippi and Niger deltas. That is, it's African blues; his guitar playing and singing are deep, rhythmic, & soulful. If you ever get a chance to listen to him, do so.Obituary
