V for a whole lot of things.

This one is for the person that found my blog by googling "Crazy Carpet."

A couple of reasons why V for Vendetta isn't a very good movie:

Natalie Portman has, I don't know, eight different accents.

It's really hard to have a main character with no facial expression. Maybe that was part of the point, but how can you feel for someone if you can't see their eyebrows move. Though I've got to say I'm really glad there was no emotional unmasking beauty on the inside type scene. That would have been crap.

A couple of reasons why V for Vendetta is a kind of good movie:

John Hurt as a totalitarian dictator on a big screen. Winston Smith becomes Big Brother. Oh, sweet irony.

V's speech that is an alliteration of the letter V. Nicely done.

But most of all:
Natalie Portman=Shaved Head.

This is the first film that Samantha and I had gone to in several years that I had actually wanted to see.

Not bad, but nothing spectacular. I think the imagery could have been better perhaps - something more interesting like "Brazil" or "A Clockwork Orange" in the sense that they were original.

Natalie is a great baldy tho, u'r right! :)

Ok, Natalie had a little trouble with the accent. But she's hot enough to make up for that. Oh my god is she hot with that shaved head.

But I think never letting V out of the mask was masterfull; they could have given in and made the mask expressive and it would have lost all of the weird, enigmatic quality and made Weaving's job way too easy.

Really the only issue *I* had was with the betty page hair. I mean, that theer is some kinda bad wig.
